I don’t usually eat too many protein products even though I should be diligently consuming protein before and after a workout. Since starting BodyCombat almost 5 years ago (see my previous post about it here), I’ve since also been doing BodyPump (here) and BodyBalance as well as kickboxing classes racking it up to 5-hours of classes a week. I had been making up protein shakes using sachets from my Purition vegan trial box (see my review for it here), but I find sometimes it’s a snack right after class that I need to curb those cravings.
When I realised the whey protein shake powder contained milk, I realised I needed to find another alternative which I did in Purition, but what about snack bars? I now couldn’t just stop in the local shops on my way home to snack on a chocolate bar. Everything we choose to do in life is a choice: the food we put in our bodies, the exercise routine we follow, the path we choose to walk. I’ve realised that choosing a fitness lifestyle also means paying attention to what I’m also putting into it. Time’s a-ticking and we’re only 4 weeks away from the big day. Eek! I promise, no cold feet here, although I’m nervous yet excited at the same time. I want things to go well and for everyone to have a memorable day. Time really flies when you’re having fun, but I’m glad all the efforts and planning spent over the last 2.5 years will finally come together. I’ve been supported by my instructors to get stronger and fitter through Pump and Combat.

I previously posted about my intentions to start a cleaner eating diet and the first step towards this was making my own peanut butter. It actually worked out quite well, you can definitely taste a difference (it’s less sweet) but just as good! The next recipe I wanted to make was sweet potato hummus, again using Skinny Ms’ recipe, although I tweaked it some to suit my own needs.

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to eat healthier and keep more balanced diet. I’ve managed to successfully wean out dairy milk and am quite happy with drinking Alpro soy or hazelnut milk.
