I admit it freely, I’m obsessed. With mini bags that is. Haven’t noticed? I’ve blogged about the Reed Krakoff’s micro Boxer, the Céline Micro Luggage and the Mini Coach Tanner crossbody. Now I’ve found another drool-worthy opponent at a reasonable price.
If you’re not a big fan of the Mini Tanner from Coach and prefer something a little more…contemporary designer, take a look at the 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli mini satchel and tell me you can walk away without taking a second glance…or a third.

The bag is made from grained calfskin leather and includes a long detachable shoulder strap, interior leather zipped compartment, contrasting hardware and a buckle button closure to the bag. My favourite for the summer or that bit of colour in your life during the dreary winter months is the coral version above. While there’s something quite romantic in the comeback of the satchels, it seems as if everyone is going after the Cambridge Satchels, but I like the versatility of the mini Pashli. It’s not as structured as the Cambridge ones and it can be worn by fashionistas who aren’t into the whole school bag/scholarly look.
While it looks quite small in size, the zippers along the front allow for the compartment to be expanded, depending on how you like your bag.

In a way, the almost trapeze shape of the bag reminds me slightly of the Céline Micro Luggage, but also has its own redeeming accents that set itself apart. Phillip Lim has been setting himself apart from other contemporary designers since he started the label in 2005 and injects elegance into wearable clothes for women everywhere who don’t have the body shape of a runway model.
If you prefer something a little roomier, how about the medium sized Pashli?
